Chinese Food

10:01 PM

Chinese New Year was last week on Monday! I'm going to be honest and say that I don't really follow Chinese traditions. I consider myself to be more American than Chinese. However, Chinese New Year is one of those holidays that brings everyone together. I think I saw more of my family over Chinese New Year than over Christmas!

You guys remember Momo right?
It has been almost a year since I saw her! She has her own tag on this blog! If you look through those old post, you'll find a fetus Jackii in there. Man this blog has been up for a long time!

Clay Pot of Vegetables and Meat
This is considered to be a traditional food eaten during Chinese New Years

I feel like I need to mention this here, but yes, I was able to keep up with the vegetarian diet! Remember in my 2016 Resolutions I said I was going to follow a vegetarian lifestyle? I wasn't able to eat the delicious chicken. However, I did eat the rice and other vegetables. For all the food items that contained meat, I picked away the meat carefully before consuming. Of course being picky with food (specially during Chinese New Years) is difficult. I feel like my family doesn't really understand why I've decided not to eat meat, but for the most part, they have been supportive!
